Why Paperize

The materials, process and details that make the difference

What makes my creations recognisable and so closely connected to the way I design and create?

There are three key elements that define the individuality and value of every Paperize creation: The choice of materials, The painting process, Personalisation

From the choice of materials and the painting process to the attention given to personalisation, Paperize has found its identity through the combination of my experience in set design, botanical research and my constant observation of the organic forms found in nature.

Staying curious, challenging myself and seeking innovative solutions have always been, and will always remain, fundamental to my work.

What makes Paperize unique?

The choice of materials

I mainly work with paper and card from FSC®-certified Italian sources, materials also used in graphic design and packaging. I choose them for their technical, tactile and aesthetic qualities and the sculptural, structured detail they allow. Depending on the project, I may also use other papers, including crepe paper, for specific details or commissioned pieces.

I often incorporate hand-modelled Fimo® elements into my compositions to create botanical details such as pistils and stamens. I also love to keep experimenting, including technologies such as 3D printing.

In my studio, you can explore an extensive collection of catalogues and samples, so that together we can find the paper best suited to your project.

Every creation begins with papers and card carefully selected to suit each project.

The painting process

The airbrush is one of the most important tools in my creative process: a technique that requires years of experience and a deep understanding of materials, colours and surfaces.

Alongside airbrushing, I use watercolours, pigments, pastels and special finishes such as gold leaf and metallic powders, selected according to the project and the effect I want to achieve.

For pieces designed to last, I apply a special water-based gel by hand to help preserve the colours, shapes and details of each composition.

Personalisation

Every project begins with careful consultation and discussion. Whether it is a wedding, an installation or a piece for the home, my aim is always to find the solution that best suits the setting, the space and the person who will experience it.

Not every paper is suitable for every purpose. That is why I guide each client through the choice of materials, considering not only their aesthetic qualities, but also their technical characteristics and the intended purpose of the final piece.

From the initial concept to laser cutting, modelling and final styling, I oversee every stage with care to ensure consistency, quality and attention to detail.

Never stop being curious. Never stop looking for solutions.
